Updates: Strong typhoon Urduja continue to intensifies and will hit Visayas region Friday, December 15, 2017.

TROPICAL STORM "URDUJA" REMAINS ALMOST STATIONARY AND CONTINUES TO BRING DAMAGE OVER EASTERN VISAYAS.

Expected to make landfall over Eastern Samar tomorrow morning.

Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 400 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.

Scattered to widespread rains is expected over Visayas and the regions of Bicol, Caraga and Northern Mindanao within 24 hours. Residents in these areas are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the eastern seaboard of Bicol Region and in the seaboards of Visayas due to rough to very rough seas associated with the approaching Tropical Storm.

Location of eye/center: At 7:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Storm "URDUJA" was estimated based on all available data at 85 km East Southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar (10.7 °N, 126.4 °E)

Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph

48 Hour(Saturday afternoon):45 km East Northeast of Roxas City, Capiz(11.8°N, 123.1°E)

72 Hour(Sunday afternoon): 120 km North Northeast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan(10.7°N, 119.2°E)

96 Hour(Monday afternoon):200 km West Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan(10.2°N, 117.0°E)

TCWS#1-Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate lncluding Burias and Ticao Islands, and Romblon Leyte, Southern Leyte, Northern Cebu including Bantayan Island, Capiz, Aklan, and Northern Iloilo Dinagat Islands.

The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next next Severe Weather Bulletin to be issued at 11 PM today.
