Duterte on God telling him not to curse: I was only joking. President Duterte made a statement telling that he was only joking when he said that God talked to him on the plane while going to Japan.
Duterte made the remark in a speech before the Integrated Bar of the Philippines of Greater Manila.
"Hindi naman ako bar topnotcher pero hindi naman ako ganun ka g***. Anak ng," Duterte said.
"Kasi sabi ko nga, ang paborito ko sa Davao, magbiro ng kung anu-ano, tapos sabihin, ha?Ganun-ganun, tapos bawiin ko, eh maniwala ka pala. Ka ugok mo eh," he added.
"In the plane everybody was asleep, snoring and somebody whispered to me, huwag kang magmura uli kasi ihulog ko ‘yung eroplano. Alam mo mga buang naniwala rin," Duterte said.
After arriving from his three-day official visit in Japan, Duterte in a press conference in Davao City said that God talked him out of his habit of blurting out expletives.
But Duterte broke his promise a few days after as he lashed out at the US once again after officials reportedly stopped the sale of 26,000 rifles to the Philippines.
"Sabi pa itong isa, maniwala daw siya kung ako ang makipag-usap sa Diyos pero kung ang Diyos na ang makipag-usap sa akin, sabi niya eh, 'Schizo ka'," Duterte said.
"Eh, kung dalawa na lang kami na schizo, ang Ginoo pati ako? Kung hindi ka torpe, tatlo na tayo: ikaw, Diyos pati… hay naku, buhay," he added.
