November 2, 2015, All Soul s Day Is Not a Holiday says Palace - Confirmed

All Soul's Day holiday or not holiday?
Confirmed: November 2, 2015 will not be declared holiday and there will be regular working day and classes says Malacanan Palace.

This was confirmed by Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte during an interview with dzRB on Saturday, October 24.

“Pasensiya na po, hindi po holiday ‘yung November 2 (I’m sorry but November 2 is not a holiday),” Valte said.

However, November 1, a Sunday, and also All Saints’ Day, is a special non-working holiday.

According to Valte, preparations are underway as the government expects thousands to flock to cemeteries for the Undas weekend.

“So talagang ‘yung commemoration po natin may dalawang araw po naman tayo para makabisita doon sa mga puntod ng ating mga minamahal and our preparations will be the same,” she said.

(It will be a two-day commemoration to give time for people to visit the graves of their departed loved ones. Our preparations will be the same.)

“It will be ensuring that there will be an orderly flow of people going to our major cemeteries and for those who may be going to the provinces to visit their loved ones.”

Valte added that the Philippine National Police is currently coordinating with various local government units to ensure the safety and security of major cemeteries in Metro Manila, including the Manila North and South Cemeteries.

“Ang main concern naman po natin diyan is ‘yung traffic and ‘yung facilitation of traffic and crowd control (Our main concerns will be about the facilitation of traffic and crowd control),” said Valte.
